after success death Note, Dachang and hold on Returning, the series teases life in the Shonen Jump office from the perspective of two up-and-coming manga creators, Mashiro Moritaka and Akito Takagi. The two form a writer/artist duo, not unlike Ohba and Obata themselves. The series follows their remaining years in high school, their efforts to create successful comics, and their subsequent adult lives.
I haven’t read it yet Bakuman. over a long period of time. But I stuck with it from the beginning because I love it death Note (Still true to this day). Also, Obata is one of my favorite artists of all time. I still have fond memories of it, even if the series did have problems that were noticeable at the time and probably feel worse to me now. Such as the so-so ending and Obata’s problems with writing about women.
Bakuman. There really is a very colorful and broad cast of characters that bring this piece to life. Every manga creator has their own unique style, and Obata brings his unique style to life, and he really flexes his muscles in ways that weren’t possible with previous teams. This is an incredible display of Obata’s talent and is worth the price of admission alone.
Bakuman. is a peek behind the scenes of professional comic creation, even when it’s elevated and exaggerated for the sake of entertainment. This story should be inspiring to creatives who want to make a living from comics, even as it describes some of the trials and tribulations that come with embarking on this journey.
I think death Note is a stronger story of two people working together, but Bakuman. Still holds a special place in my heart. As for Platinum endthe team’s third comic series…well, as excited as I was, I didn’t get too far into it before I had to call it a day. — Derek Crow

I want to thank WEBTOON for bringing this to my attention with their 2025 contest announcement. Self-publishing the series first on WEBTOON CANVAS and then on WEBTOON ORIGINALS in August 2021, test It tells the story of Che, an ordinary man determined to become the greatest warrior on Earth, a planet populated by superhuman beings known as “Kimyos”. (think quirks my hero academiaor mutants from X-Men comics. But Che’s adventure really begins when Leo is murdered.
I’ve never seen such great art in a webcomic before. Brent BristowThe illustrations are very detailed, with a mix of semi-realism and cartoonist style Takehiko Inoue. The fight scenes were so well paced and illustrated that they made my jaw drop. WEBTOON How much time did Brent give Brent to complete this task? The details, the shadows, the post-production effects…I sometimes forget this is even a webcomic. If you want to qualify for that position –my hero academia I believe a range of appetites will surprise and inspire other artists, giving test One reading. Season 3 is about to be released, so I recommend you catch up on one of WEBTOON’s highlights. — Justin Guerrero

Read enough shonen manga and your eyes will start to glaze over when you read the summaries at the back of the short comics. “What is this,” you say. “A teenage boy representing his family at school and soul hunting with the daughter of a rival clan? How original! Guilty as charged. Boundary stone It’s not just a copycat of works like “Shounen Jump”. It also borrowed the Teenage Sunday star Kazuhiro Fujitaof tide and tiger. As long as you’ve been reading comics for at least a year, you’ve seen every beat the series has to offer. So why is Boundary stone so good?
i believe huangtianbianone of the great underrated shōnen manga artists. Her creepy monster design is enough to distinguish Boundary stone competition from it. But what separates Tanabe from the likes of Kazuhiro Fujita is her range. She can literally draw Ghibli-esque nature gods, stylish humans, and even horrific killers. Yoshihiro Togashiof Hunter×Hunter. Although inhabiting different registers, these creatures all exist believably in the same environment. Breed maintenance Boundary stone What is new is that another artist (even a very talented one) may encounter a situation of diminishing returns.
Tanabe is also very good at telling the substance of a boy’s adventure story. The core “kekkai” (barrier) power is simple but can be applied in many different ways. The dynamic between protagonists Yoshimori and Tokine is enjoyable; while cool older girl Tokine eventually cedes the stage to chosen boy Yoshimori, she at least keeps it going longer than most teen Jump series dare.
Boundary stoneAside from the art, its most powerful feature is its willingness to prioritize character over action. The first big arc ends not with the protagonist crushing the bad guy, but with the antagonists talking to each other while walking through a field of pampas grass. Tanabe had already pulled this trick a few years before in Koyōji Kofuji’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba when he asked, “What if the protagonist is friendly to monsters?” In fact, if you like Demon Slayer, I think you’ll like it too Boundary stone as well as. Now if only someone would be willing to license another of Tanabe’s manga epics Birdman……—— Adam Westcott
