Build-A-Bear Workshop, known for its cute plush and unique shopping style, announced plans to expand its retail experience in Orlando, Florida. The beloved children’s company will provide an innovative and multi-level shopping experience to one of the largest tourist destinations in the United States and will begin construction later this year.

To expand in Orlando, the company has teamed up with Chute Gerdeman, a company known for making immersive retail spaces, including the FAO Schwarz New York Flagship. Through this partnership, the Build-A-Bear workshop aims to expand with personalized elements and destination-based concepts while maintaining its staple retail experience.
Consumers can visit the upcoming multi-level store in Icon Park, which is close to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando. Potential visitors can expect to see the latest expansion of the Build-A-Bear workshop, which is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2026.
“A creative explanation of Build-A-Bear’s famous ‘Make Your’ Teddy Bear retail concept, located in a major destination city, is an essential attraction for our many fans,” said John, CEO of Build-A-Bear. “From our core consumer base to the collectible market that represents 40% of our sales, we look forward to creating memorable moments for our guests in this one-of-a-kind location.”
“This will be the largest combination of Icon Park experience retail and entertainment,” said Chris Jaskiewicz, president and CEO of Icon Park. “We believe that Build-A-Bear’s decision to expand on this scale demonstrates the appeal of doing business in Orange County and Icon Park.”
