James Gunn shares his appreciation for superman collaborator at the end of filming.
On Tuesday, the filmmaker shared a photo from the set on social media and expressed his gratitude to the team behind DC Studios for reviving the iconic character’s story. Warner Bros. prepares for release superman Released on July 11, 2025.
“That sums it up,” Gunn wrote. “God bless our cast and crew, whose dedication, creativity and hard work made this project a reality. I set out to make a movie about a good guy living in a world that’s not always a good place. I The kindness, kindness, and love I encounter every day on set inspire me and keep me going when I feel like I’m too tired to move forward on my own.
He continued: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It’s been an honor. The destination is supermanbut the journey has been filled with hard work, laughter, emotion, ideas, and magic that we all shared together on set—and for that I am forever grateful.
superman David Coronthwaite plays the titular superhero, Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult plays Lex Luthor. It is the first feature film in a new project overseen by DC Studios bosses Gunn and Peter Safran.
Other cast members include Isabella Merced (Hawkeye), Skylar Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher) , Eddie Gaethje (“Mr. Fantastic”), Terrence Rossmore (Otis), Anthony Carrigan (“The Metamorphosis”), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner) ), Wendell Pierce (Perry White) and Maria Gabriella de Faria (Engineer).
Gunn’s new post included a photo from the team’s first week of filming on Norway’s snowy Svalbard Islands.
superman This is the first film to feature the character since Henry Cavill played the character in multiple productions. Cavill made his debut as Superman in Zack Snyder’s 2013 film man of Steel.
