On Monday night, Amazon Web Services sent out a notification about an issue with the US-EAST-1 zone of its server network, which supports many web services. The only issues we’ve seen so far related to the issue are outages affecting Amazon-owned Ring, with owners of security cameras and doorbells reporting that features like history, events, and neighbors are unavailable.
For some affected people, live feeds from surveillance cameras are still available, and Ring’s status page confirms, “We are investigating multiple Ring system issues that affect live view, recordings, timelines, event history, and more .
Both outages reportedly began at 6:40 p.m. ET, and there is no word yet on when service will be restored.
The latest note posted to the AWS Health dashboard at 7:58 pm ET said, “We have identified the root cause and are actively working on multiple parallel paths to mitigate the issue,” and listed 41 affected AWS Serve.
