Anime fans across North America are once again rejoicing at Anime Expo 2024, one of the largest anime events on the continent, taking place in Los Angeles from July 4 to 7. It will be held from July 4th to 7th.
As usual, Kodansha makes a big appearance, with their popular sports series Blue Lock taking the spotlight this year.
Other popular Kodansha series also made a splash at this year’s AX show, including Shangri-La Frontier, Fairy Tail and, of course, One Piece.




It felt like Kodansha had taken over AX 2024, not only with an impressive display, but also strategically placing comic booths directly in front of the door, welcoming over 407K attendees to the main hall. But Kodansha isn’t the only major player making waves at AX 2024. Sing and dance to the beloved anime opening and ending songs, and more.
Many of the booths this year had elaborate photo props to provide fans with unique photo opportunities, including the sage mode Gammaji from “Naruto”, characters from “Metaphor: ReFantazio”, and “Dragon Ball: Sparks Fly” A display of Goku and Jiren in! Zero Games, Freelan and her squad members, numerous Demon Slayer character props, the iconic Swordfish II spaceship from Cowboy Bebop, and even a wrestling arena where fans can compete with Kinnikuman A group photo of the characters in “Perfect Origin”. Other brands attracted attention by showcasing their latest sales collections, such as OMOCAT and Good Smile.




Of course, no anime convention would be complete without the active presence of cosplayers. AX 2024 saw many fans dress up as popular characters such as Freelan and Sakura Kinomoto from CCS, Eevee, Magikarp and Pikachu from Pokemon, and Ash from Ranma 1/2. Hair, and the whole party in “Delicious in the Dungeon.”


If you missed the 33rd Anime Expo this year, don’t worry! AX has announced its return to the Los Angeles Comic Convention Center from July 3-6, 2025. The Ontario Convention Center will host Anime Expo Chibi on November 9-10.
