as Deadpool and Wolverine Continuing its huge box office success, Ryan Reynolds Paying homage to Deadpool and Fox’s “weird” and “dangerous” Marvel Universe, he expressed his gratitude.
“This is more than Deadpool saying ‘Oh hello’ to the Marvel Universe,” Reynolds said. “This is Deadpool – and Hugh, Sean and me – saying goodbye to a place and time that truly made us who we are.
“We are forever grateful to 20th Century Fox for the funny, weird, off-kilter, and dangerous world. It’s our origin story and we wouldn’t trade it for anything. Thank you to Kevin Feige and Disney for allowing us to share it.
This movie is definitely a love letter to Fox’s “X-Men” universe, and I just thought there were bound to be more cameos than we got. Don’t get me wrong, this movie is great, I love what it delivers, I just think we’ll see more of the original X-Men characters in it.
Deadpool and Wolverine Currently, the film ranks sixth with $211 million in box office receipts. It also broke the opening weekend record for an R-rated movie.
Three days after its release, the film’s global box office total has reached US$444.3 million and is expected to exceed US$1 billion.
