Horror enthusiast, comics creator and actor David Dastmazian will write the first comic book series for Panick Entertainment, a new science fiction and horror multimedia company debuting at San Diego Comic-Con 2024.
Panick may be new to the field, but its team is not. The founders are comprised of comics industry veterans with many years of experience, including the CEO Chris Longo (Earlier heavy metal Publisher and current CEO of Modern Fandom); Studio Head and Executive Director Adam Schlagman (Former DC Films and Integrated Content Vice President); Chief Operating Officer Doug Christmas (Screenwriter and former outpost Executive Producer); Chief Financial Officer Christopher Chiang (Former DC Finance Manager); and CCO Mark McCann (Writer, Editor and Illustrator). Co-founder of Syzygy Publishing, former IDW President and CCO Chris Riel Will serve as lead consultant on branding, world-building, slate development, and more.
Panick Entertainment announced publishing plans for 2025 at SDCC, starting with Dastmalchian’s next horror series – a new series by Leah Kilpatrick. The company’s strategy is to publish a diverse line of science fiction and horror comics, which are then adapted into other media such as video games, movies, television, and more. Longo’s Modern Fanatic marketing agency will handle promotions and media communications.
