Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con was packed with aliens on Friday night. Facehuggers jump around the room. Aliens chewing on our faces. Yes, these things happen on screen, but it’s still exciting.
this alien series returns to Comic-Con this year to talk about everything that’s coming Alien: RomulusThe film is directed by Fede Alvarez and stars Kelly Spaeny. They were joined by co-stars David Jonson, Archie Renault, Isabella Merced, Spike Finn and Erin Wu. However, with the final trailer just released a few days ago, what exactly can they show off?
Well, two scenes that were previously screened at CinemaCon (read about them here), as well as a new scene, are enhanced alien Mythical, but also very vivid. If you want to know it all, keep reading, but if you want to save yourself for next month, consider this your final warning…
As the scene begins, we see Kay, played by Isabella Merced, fall to the ground, passed out. She woke up and slowly climbed down the ladder to the rest of the ship. She tiptoed down the corridor. A loud noise from nowhere startled us. She steps on something and we see it’s the skin of a small alien, which is never a good thing.
On a nearby wall we see that almost rib-like structure that looks very organic. in another alien In the movies, we see these all the time, but never know what they are, or were. Now we know. It had an opening in it and looked, well… let’s just say it was very vaginal. Kai begins to approach when Bjorn (Spike Fein) grabs him from behind. He covered her mouth and motioned for her to be quiet. He walked carefully down the very atmospheric corridor and grabbed a cattle prod. He lights it and pushes it into the aforementioned vaginal opening.
Chaos ensues. There were sparks, screams, fire, just general madness. He pulled it out and found it had been burned through. Acid dripped from the opening. A nail popped out of the opening and quickly—snap—pierced his head, killing him. After he falls, a full xenomorph begins to emerge from the opening. First the head, then the hands. The fingers slowly opened. Merced’s character has been watching all this and tries to get out, but the door won’t open. Finally, the full alien appears, and it’s angry. The door opened and she ran inside, tripped, and fell down the shaft.
This leads into a fuller trailer like we’ve seen before. Then, in the Comic-Con room, as the panel was speaking after the trailer, the lights suddenly went out. Here’s what happens next:
Alien: Romulus Opened on August 16th.
