2024 Lin Ge nominations are out! The annual McWillingo Comic Book Industry Awards have announced the contenders for its eighth annual Comic Book Awards. Voting by comics industry professionals is open until August 21, and the awards ceremony will be held on the evening of September 21 at Baltimore Comic-Con.
The Ringo Awards said in a press release announcing the full roster:
“The Ringo Awards are pleased to announce their 2024 nominees. The nomination process was completed with the participation of our esteemed 2024 jury and the voting public. Fans and comics professionals alike have expressed strong support for promoting the voting process on their websites and social media support.
“Voting for the 2024 Final Ballot is limited to the comics industry creative community—anyone involved and considered professionally creating comics. We now announce the final ballot for the 2024 Mike Veringo Comic Book Industry Awards.
Baltimore Comic Con Promoter Mark Nathan On this year’s awards:
“Each year, Ringo Awards judges are faced with the difficult task of ‘picking their favorite kid.’ Determining what makes the cut and what doesn’t is always a challenge, but as you’ll see from the final votes Well, the hard work of our judges has paid off, and with public voting thrown in, we have some outstanding representatives representing the best of comics in 2023.
This year’s jury includes Alan Gill (The Ultimate Comic Shop; NCComicon); Writer, Editor, Educator Robert Greenberg; Writer, artist, creator, adjunct professor at the School of Visual Arts Jamal Eagle (molly danger, wrong earth, black); Writer, comic and game writer Sam Maggs (Key Role: “Origins of the Mighty Nein”, “No Storytelling: Pirates of the South Sea”); and writers and artists Annie Wu (two graves, dead man fan club).
[Note: The original list did not credit the authors behind nominated works. We have endeavoured to match creative teams to their respective books. In the case of anthologies or books with more than four members, we have placed “various”. There are some exceptions, however. Identifiable US releases of foreign works we have endeavoured to track down and credit translators. ‘Best Design’ category we have endeavoured to find designers]
