The second season of the Halo TV series is released on 4K Blu-ray today (July 23). While fans can now add the physical version to their bookshelves, it comes just days after Paramount+ canceled the Halo TV series, despite the second season receiving strong reviews from critics and fans. The Halo TV series comes just days after Paramount+ canceled it. The production team says it will try to find a new home for the series, but we may never see the real-life Captain complete the battle.

The cancellation also means that the Blu-ray versions of both seasons may not be in print for much longer, especially as interest in the 4K steelbook version may increase. Amazon has a 4K limited edition of Season 2 for $50 (originally $59), and you can pair the new edition with a 4K Steelbook Edition of Season 1 for $39 (originally $60).

    $50 (originally $59)

Halo: Season 2 offers all eight episodes of Season 2 in 4K and HDR, so it looks great on all screens. You’ll also get a beautiful steel book featuring the Master Chief’s stories in the field. If you don’t need 4K resolution or a copy, you can buy Halo: Season 2 Standard Edition Blu-ray for $35.

    Halo: Season 2 Special Features

Whether you choose the 4K or Blu-ray version, you’ll enjoy over two hours of bonus features. This includes:

    • Halo Series: Declassified Episodes 1-8
    • Silver team returns
    • Kiki’s favorite suit: Vulture
    • Bringing the 26th century to life
    • Visit Luma Pictures
    • Build a Covenant warship
    • Causing the fall of Reach
    • House of Sauron
    • Written for Halo S2
    • Bigger and better props

Considering that Halo: Season 2 will likely be the last Blu-ray release of the show, either version is worth picking up. With that in mind, it would be wise to pick up the Blu-ray version of Halo: Season 1 if you haven’t already, as those may be gone soon as well. Thankfully, the show’s first season is available on multiple offers. If you’re looking for another limited edition steelbook, you can find the Halo: Season 1 steelbook in 4K on Amazon and Walmart for $38 (regularly $59). If you don’t care about the steelbook, you can buy Halo: Season 1 in 4K Ultra HD or in standard Blu-ray, both of which are currently on sale for $28. Depending on your location, Prime members can enjoy free next-day delivery on all books.

Fans of the show should also consider pre-ordering The Making of Halo: Hope, Heroism, Humanity. The upcoming book will give Halo fans an inside look at the creative process of the now-cancelled Paramount+ series. It’s set to release on November 5th and can be pre-ordered on Amazon for $50.

In other Halo Blu-ray news, the final chapter in the popular Halo web series, Red & Blue Restored, will be released on October 8th.
