“Surprise” Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (2023 Edition) becomes the first game in the series to launch on Xbox Game Pass today, July 24, just in time to get your hands on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Be well prepared. But how much time do you have to practice before you get into it? Well, have no fear, we’ve done some ridiculous math.
Yeah, stop engaging in all the arguments about whether CoD being on Game Pass now is a good thing for Xbox, or whether the recent Game Pass changes are confusing – it’s time to take a shot at some people.

According to Microsoft’s announcement, Modern Warfare 3 will be available through Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate tiers, and will come with all the modes you love, think you’re okay with, or hate.
That’s the single-player campaign, Zombies, and multiplayer – the latter is what we’re going to focus on, because it’s time for us to come up with some proprietary weird math like we did with Black Ops 2 Do that.
Deathmatch in Modern Warfare 3 (either team or melee) has a time limit of 10 minutes. Of course, they don’t have to last that long, as one player or team reaching the point limit will also end the game, but if everyone you play with (including you) is terrible at the game, then just play Medium to long distance travel is not out of the question either.
As of this writing, there are still 93 days until Black Ops 6’s October 25th release date. So if we divide that by 10 minutes, we get 13,392. Now, given the need for loading screens and finding matches, it’s unrealistic to expect you to do it non-stop during that time, but getting around 13,000 seems possible if you give up the things humans need to do – sleep, eat, etc. (Just for the record, obviously we don’t recommend this).
So, for someone like me who plays CoD, it seems theoretically possible to lose around 13,000 MW3 games before diving straight into Blops 6. But Mark, you’re saying that even if you suck, you might still end up having some wins with your teammates leading the way. What I’m saying to you is this: You might not try hard enough and lose. The only limit to the appeal of video games is what we can imagine. Now, for a big dream, get out there and keep getting your head blown off.
Oh, and if you’re curious about Black Ops 6’s beta date, you can read about it here.
