Over the weekend, Digital Extremes hosted Tennocon, their annual conference dedicated to all things War Armorand gave the first full look at the shooter’s upcoming game Year 1999 expansion. The free update will be released this winter and will almost look like a completely different game, so it will have brand new features such as a romance system. I guess the Warframe bastards will keep winning.
In a lengthy speech at the conference, Digital Extremes finally took an honest look at Arthur, Warframe 1999′The protagonist – voiced by the new golden boy of the game, final fantasy 16of Ben Starr— and his support team, Hex. What does hexadecimal make up? War Armor Called a syndicate, but we could call it a faction. Year 1999The “Syndicate” consists of Amir Beckett, Aoi Morohoshi, Quincy Isaacs, Leticia Garcia, and Eleanor Nightingale (who appears to be Arthur’s sister).
On stage, the developers announced that they wanted players to be “closer” to this organization than to other organizations added to the game. therefore, Warframe 1999 A complete romance system is being packaged, and any Hex, including Arthur, can romance. Yes, you read that right, you able Romance Ben Starr in this game and maybe even get a New Year’s kiss from the person you’re with.
In keeping with the 1999 setting (specifically New Year’s Eve 1999, all the way up to 2000/Y2K), the expansion will convey this romance system via instant messaging. Before the action-packed portion of the demo, Arthur hops on a PC in the abandoned shopping mall Hex calls his home base, fires up a chat client called KIM, and an eerily accurate dialing sound ensues.
As expected, KIM looks very similar to early AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), with not only a pop-up chat window but also usernames and comments (and possibly a bio and status). A gift icon was also visible when demo players opened one of Hex’s profiles, suggesting the relationship system might be taking some cues from the game, such as Stardew Valley, giving gifts can help you win the love of other characters. Otherwise, KIM looks like a carbon copy of the messaging programs of yesteryear, and I swear to God, if I hear a door slamming when someone logs out, I’m going to sue for emotional distress.
After many years as a AAA game developer and publisher Joking about tweaking their established franchise Love visual novels and dating sims (usually around April Fools’ Day) and it’s so refreshing to see a game this big War Armor Take it seriously and add it as a feature in the extension. While it’s unclear how deep this system will go, the buzz among the Tennocon crowd seems to indicate that fans of the game, especially the most devout, do want a system like this. Digital Extremes might throw out some stuff like this War Armor money outsourcing (Bad) Dating Simbut that’s not the case, and I think that’s commendable.
Delightful retro extension War Armor It doesn’t stop there. Throughout the 22-minute demo, a boy band named On-lyne appeared repeatedly. The demo actually started with an online ad, with their ads appearing around town as Arthur rode around on his motorcycle Year 1999new environment. On-lyne’s banner even briefly appears at the bottom of the KIM client. It turns out that digital limits Borrowed a page from Riot Games and thought fit to make a actual Taking a 90s style boy band and incorporating them into the game. There’s even a single now called “PARTY OF YOUR LIFETIME” that you can actually stream. There are no shit people, listen to this Tell me this doesn’t sound like “Larger Than Life” by the Backstreet Boys, or some clips from it no strings attached.
Although you can’t see them at their peak Year 1999On-lyne seems to be in the current War Armor Timeline. Once the demo switched to the newest Tenno on the ship, they received a signal for a concert that appeared to be taking place in the center of outer space. Once the player reaches the stadium, a number of pods suspended above will release a number of corpses onto the stage, indicating that the boy band has become one of the Infested. War Armorhostile factions.
Unfortunately, the action is cut short before the actual encounter, but I’ve seen enough. I haven’t played War Armor Before, I definitely did this no Need to play more service games, but I want to romance hot robots, speed around town on sick motorcycles, and dance to catchy songs with pretty boys. Deep down, you know you want that too.
