David Duchovny recently looked back on his time starring in the hit sci-fi series The X-Filesand how the show’s creators Chris CarterHe “almost had an insight” into the direction of conspiracy culture.
Speaking about this, the actor explained: “Mulder’s way of looking at the world was through conspiracy, which at the time was very fringe. It doesn’t seem so fringe anymore. It’s really Chris Carter around 30 A world foreseen years ago.
When it comes to some of the conspiracies spread through social media, Duchovny doesn’t buy into it.
He went on to say that he thinks conspiracies are “mostly just lazy thinking,” and I know a lot of them are ridiculous, but at the same time, a lot of them are The X-Files It turns out this is true.
It’s crazy when you go back and watch the show now because when you watch it you see all the things that have been revealed and proven to be true since the show ended.
He also explains that he doesn’t look like Agent Mulder at all. When asked about this, he said: “Not at all. I’m an artist – I’m based on association, I think of poetry as science and science as poetry.”
This is definitely something an artist would say.
I don’t know if we’ll see Duchovny return to play the character of Fox Mulder, but the actor has previously said he’s always looking forward to more!
He said: “I thought the first seven years were enough! But obviously, I’m always hungry for more. Someone sent me a clip Joel McHale This is from an episode we did in 2016, and it describes exactly where we are six years later.
“I do not think so [X-Files creator] Chris Carter gets enough credit [prescient]. Forget the ins and outs of the plot and who got pregnant or who got shot. I mean, every show becomes a soap opera, so your options are limited. People die, get pregnant, or go to jail, right? Or become president.
“When you realize that somehow Chris made a show in 1993 and again in 2016 that predicted what it would be like in 2022, I think worrying about character fat is a bit much. .
“I would say, ‘What do you have?’ Because I also want to know the future, you know what I mean? And I’m not denigrating Gillian either. [Anderson]Feelings about Scully’s pregnancy or character. Throughout the run I certainly had my doubts about my own personality.
“That’s the nature of things that works over the long term. But in the long term, what the show is able to embrace thematically is really the key to its longevity, and if we were to do it again, the question would just be: ‘What do we do?'” [sic] say what?
When talking about more possibilities before The X-Files “I think it’s definitely The X-Files There’s more life in it, more stories to tell, with or without Gillian. I’m sad to see her go, I never really considered doing the show without her, so is this the end?
“This is the end of something, I don’t know if this is the beginning of something new. But of course, we have to work together to figure out where to go next.
