In 1964, newlywed Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton would play the title role in an experimental new Broadway production of Hamlet under the rigorous direction of Sir John Gielgud. But as rehearsals progress, the two eras of drama collide, and the collaboration between actors and director is soon in danger of unraveling.
