“Starting with Flip 6, Fold 6 and newer models, the Samsung Messages app will no longer come preloaded,” reads a Samsung message posted by Android leaker Max Weinbach. “Instead, Google Messages will offer a new, enhanced Experience to express your emotions and make communication safe and fun. ”
Google Messages has been the default setting on Samsung phones since Samsung made the switch in 2022, which is a boon for RCS messages.
Mishaal Rahman, who frequently reports on Android rumors, said that although Samsung hasn’t made it clear, the change only applies to phones sold in the United States. Rahman said versions of the foldable device purchased in Canada and Europe will still have the app installed.
