Hello again, friends. I’ve been playing around with this little series, trying to find games from other consoles that have been ported to the Switch, and now it’s time to pick the low-hanging fruit. In fact, this is the first article in this series where finding five more games I want to see is more difficult than finding ten already released games. The Wii U had a rough life, and there were many reasons why it failed, but no one can say it didn’t have some great games. Many of them have jumped to Switch, which is what we’re going to see today. We’ve got ten of our favorites here, in no particular order, and as usual, we’ve added five more we’d like to see. Go game!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition ($59.99)
We’ll start with the most achievable goals, Mario Kart 8. The best-selling game on Nintendo Switch and one of the best-selling games of all time, period. It’s easy to see why: this game is a great time for just about anyone, regardless of skill level, and the more players you add, the better. It’s packed with classes and characters from the start, and you can expand it to wild levels with DLC class packs. Looking at it from another angle, almost half of Switch users have this game in their collection. Wowza.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury ($59.99)
For better or worse, Mario’s 3D game on Wii U doesn’t take full advantage of the system’s unique features. This makes it a good candidate for a Switch version when it finally releases, and it comes with a pretty robust extra adventure. Super Mario 3D World is a very interesting game that uses the same super mario odysseyThe emphasis is on exploration and discovery, and it’s more about those good old-fashioned obstacle courses. There’s no reason you can’t have both!
Bayonetta 2 ($49.99)
This was one of the games that attracted me to the Wii U, but ultimately I didn’t play much there. Well, it happened. Bayonetta 2 Coming to Switch early, it’s a welcome addition to the library. It also originally came with a port of the first game, which is a bonus we can all get behind. I still think the first game of the series is the best, but Bayonetta 2 is a highly entertaining sequel that’s just as irreverent and action-packed as its predecessor.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze ($59.99)
I’m not a big fan of Rare’s Donkey Kong Country game, I have a different but identical set of issues with the Retro franchise. Still, I have to put my personal issues aside and admit that Tropical Freeze is a platformer for fans of the genre. It’s gorgeous, creative, fast-paced, and has a funky new mode! How can you resist?
Captain Toad: Treasure Hunter ($39.99)
Regrettably Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker It seems like you’re swinging and missing out on three different platforms, as this is a charming and very compelling puzzle action game. I bought it three times and played it three times. It fits the Switch like a glove and is somewhere between new Odyssey Levels and DLC There’s a lot of content here that deserves a double-double experience for Wii U owners.
Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition ($59.99)
Speaking of games that go on a three-system tour, here are Hyrule Warriors I think this is its final form. You know, until the next generation of Nintendo consoles comes out. Not only does this version of the game include all the content that has been added to the game over time, but it also runs quite well on the Switch. This isn’t something anyone can get warrior game, so let’s enjoy the moment. But to be honest, this is a Sarda A fan’s dream in many ways. It’s certainly worth playing, it’s the best way to do it.
LEGO City Undercover ($29.99)
Well, yes, Lego. These games are very similar to each other in some ways and rely heavily on their familiar licenses to attract players. So how can Lego The game does not Miracle or Lord of the Rings or Star Wars Might a license stand out? Absolutely hilarious, that’s all. In some ways this is one of the best written works of all. Lego game, if you like classic cop movies or TV shows, you’re going to have a great time playing this game.
Pikmin 3 Deluxe Edition ($59.99)
You never really know, right? Pikmin It seems like its moment in the sun was limited to a brief window in the GameCube’s lifespan, and release Pikmin 3 Performance on Wii U seems to bear this out. The game was well played! No sales! But how much of that is a result of the platform? It’s a good thing Nintendo decided to give it another try. Pikmin 3 Deluxe Edition The global performance on Switch was good enough to warrant a relaunch of the series, and it’s now likely more popular than ever. Pikmin 3 Deluxe Edition: good game. maybe not as good as Pikmin 4but still very good.
Rayman Legends Definitive Edition ($39.99)
Okay, I need to cover at least one non-Nintendo related game here. Rayman Legends It’s the follow-up Lehman Origins, and while it’s ultimately multi-platform, the game is clearly designed around the Wii U. reason. The game is regularly on sale for ridiculously low prices, and if you like a good 2D platformer, I can’t imagine not owning it.
Pokémon Championship DX ($59.99)
you want iron fist On the switch? sorry! Harada didn’t, which means you didn’t iron fist. The closest we can get is Pokémon Championship DXwhich is not exactly iron fist but not quite Not Iron Fist, anyone. This is a fun fighting game that shows us another side of war Pokemon A world in which problems are solved in a more immediate way than the core set presents. Also, combos. smallpox was another early transplant that I think a lot of people missed. If you like 3D fighting games, what other options are there on Switch?
Plus… 5 Wii U games we’d like to see on Switch
Xenoblade ChroniclesX
This is the first choice for most people and I probably don’t need to explain why. We have all three main lines Xenoblade Chronicles Game on Switch, this is awesome. A very exciting trilogy of role-playing games. but Xenoblade ChroniclesX There’s its own really cool thing going on, and it would be a shame if it didn’t move to a newer platform at some point. Maybe it’s too late for the Switch, but it would be nice if you could have everything in one place.
Yoshi’s Woolly World
Confession time: I actually enjoy it all of Yoshi Platform game. yes even Yoshi’s New Island. I just think they’re neat. But even as a fan of the series, I can see which ones are better and which ones are worse. I think Yoshi’s Woolly World Probably one of the best games in the series. Of course, this is not Yoshi’s Island Super Nintendo game. Nothing. But it looks beautiful, is fun to play, and has a decent difficulty curve. The 3DS port is great, but imagine how great this game would be on a Switch screen?
Famicom mixes 1 and 2
Nintendo World Championship There’s enough overlap with this that I’m almost ready to give up on any weird re-appearance of NES classics on the Switch. But I won’t give up completely until it’s all over! The offbeat challenges in this game are very engaging and the sheer speed running aspect northwest world committee It may not be possible to replicate this. There’s something truly amazing about having a game you’re familiar with blow your mind. Fingers crossed this isn’t dead yet. we didn’t even get super nintendo remix!
Pushmo World
One thing I miss about modern Nintendo is the mini-games it released in the 3DS/Wii U era. There’s a lot of good work from this group, but Pushmo is my favorite. A charming puzzle game with clever gimmicks and some serious teeth in its more complex stages, Pushmo It came with a vengeance, but seemed to have completely disappeared by the time the Wii U came out. Maybe the Switch’s larger user base could attract it? i just want more Pushmofriends.
The Legend of Zelda HD Remastered Edition
Insiders have been calling them out for years. Fans have been asking for them since the beginning. But will we see those beautiful remakes? wind waker and twilight princess On the switch? The answer is increasingly no, but it never hurts to remain hopeful.
That’s the list, friends. What are your favorite Wii U games on Switch? Is there anything you want to see? Feel free to sound off in the comments and let us know what you think! It’s always interesting to hear other people’s opinions on things like this. As always, thank you for reading!
