Today, during Tennocon 2024, Digital Extremes debuted a new gameplay trailer for Warframe: 1999, a narrative-driven spin-off to Warframe set in the late 1990s. In addition to some tube-like action sequences, the trailer also shows off a new boss fight, in which the most dangerous enemy may be an earworm that infects your real-world brain during the fight.
The trailer begins in an abandoned shopping mall with old, clunky computers and an arcade full of machines. The Protoframe team, led by protagonist Arthur, then pursue Dr. Entrati, who Warframe fans know as the first person to contact the Void and give the Tenno their powers.

The trailer shows off multiple action scenes, highlighting new weapons like the new atomic bike, the AX-52 rifle, and battles with massive tanks in the late ’90s nu-metal style. We also meet Arthur’s teammates, including smart guy Amir, logistics expert Aoi, and sharpshooter Quincy, whose Cyte-09 Warframe is new to the Warframe experience.
The trailer concludes by introducing Technativity Coda, an Infested variant of a cosmic boyband named On-lyne. The band introduced the song to the backdrop of their “hit single” “Party Of Your Lifetime,” which is now streaming on all major real-world streaming platforms.
Other updates for Warframe include new Ember and Rhino Heirloom skins, a new questline called The Lotus Eaters, and an animated short film introducing the world of Warframe: 1999 in collaboration with London-based art studio The Line.
Warframe is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
