hello. Did you know Monopoly Go, the mobile game that has more players than any of us, gets a hot dinner? Well, Hasbro and Scopely have been working on a version of regular Monopoly based on the mobile version of the game – you know, the physical board game that’s been causing petty feuds among families since at least the 1930s.
Sorry if this confuses you, it’s not your fault. Here, let me at least help you understand why this was announced and is happening (thanks, Polygon). In short, the answer is that the main goal of the monopoly itself is to try to make some money.

Monopoly Go Monopoly succeeds the existing line-up of Monopoly games – including Cats Monopoly, Monopoly: Fortnite, Squishmallows Monopoly, and, in a different sense, Monopoly games from 2022 (We’re not trying to sell) As of this writing, at least as far as I know, you just need proof that they exist).
The aim is to try and convert some huge player numbers (enough players to win Scopely prizes) into players who can play Monopoly without the need for a cell phone as a middle man. Will it work? Given the massive appeal of Monopoly Go, it’s very possible, even if I imagine this version would be a bit difficult to play in a toilet.
That said, it does provide each of two to four players with their own Monopoly board, so if you can get a big booth for your family, or be prepared to shout out to each other what’s going on through the partitions, Then you might be in luck. The main thing you do is race to build a landmark first, kind of like Monopoly Go!’s Landmark Rush daily event.
Obviously there’s also a bank robbery, so this is basically a competitor to GTA 6. Good luck Rockstar, you’re going to need it.
