Chiaki Ishikawa commented:
I am surprised and grateful for this unexpected reunion with SEED. At that time, I received valuable advice from the screenwriter Chiaki Zhuzawa, and I also gained a lot of insights into music creation. In this theatrical version, I incorporated these experiences into the lyrics. I also had the opportunity to speak with director Fukuda, who expanded our discussion from the emotions of a single character to the broader topic of war, ultimately with a clear destination. Somehow, along the way, it feels like we’ve created something truly SEED-like. If it brings you joy, I’ll be happy.
Kajiura Yuki comments:
I feel very honored to be able to collaborate with Chiaki Ishikawa again to create the ending theme of “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM”. I’m delighted that Seesaw has been deemed a necessary element of this new story that fans have been eagerly awaiting for 20 years. It was an honor to write the song for the final scene. We hope it fulfills fans’ wishes.
Mr. Mitsuo Fukuda, director of the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series, commented:
First of all, thank you for such a beautiful song. When I first heard it, I had a strange feeling. Ms. Kajiura’s charming music and Ms. Ishikawa’s story-themed lyrics create a charming world that feels as if the world of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED 20 years ago is seamlessly connected to the present. The exciting melodies, worldly arrangements, and lyrics that connect the characters emotionally with the listener all soaked into my heart. I believe it perfectly captures the grandeur of the ending theme of the movie “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM”.
The ending theme of the “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED” series has symbolic meaning. “Anna ni Issho Datta no ni” is a magical song that synchronizes with the theme of each episode and brings the emotions to a climax. The same goes for “Kimi wa Boku ni Niteiru”. What connects the theme of each episode and touches people’s hearts is not the world of animation, but everyday words.
I believe “Sarigiwa no Romantics” will be another beautiful song that enriches the ending of this movie.
