20th Century Studios and Imagine Entertainment are in early development on a feature film adaptation of the hit action thriller series, twenty four.
The original Fox series was produced by Joel Suno and Robert Cochran Fox and starring Kiefer Sutherland Jack Bauer is an agent of the U.S. government’s fictional Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU).
The show aired for nine seasons from 2001 to 2014, with the 2008 TV movie ” 24: Redemption.
Producer Brian Grazer recently hinted in an interview with CNBC that a feature film version of the series may be in the works.
No story details for the film have been revealed yet, but it’s safe to say it will involve Jack and a team of CTU agents trying to stop a terrorist attack.
The reason the original show was so successful was because the story unfolded in real time. I love this aspect of this series. Obviously, you can’t feel that in the movie, but if the creative team behind the movie feels like they have a great new story to tell, I’ll watch it.
Sutherland once explained that he felt Ball’s story was unresolved and that he would be willing to return to the character again one day. He said: “I miss it. It was an incredible experience.
“I’ve learned that it’s better not to have a definite answer as to whether you will do something. I loved playing this character. I do believe the story is unresolved.
“If something is written that means something to me and I think will contribute to the franchise, then I will support it, even if my involvement in it is limited.
“My participation will always depend on my opinion of the quality of the writing. If [original showrunner] Howard Gordon is motivated to do it and we’ll see what happens.
