There’s no denying that the intrepid crew of Ark One went through a lot, and we’re not just talking about their incredible journey into space.
As a series set in space and filled with futuristic gadgets, “Ark” stands out among sci-fi shows because of its focus on the humanity of its characters.
According to creator and executive producer Dean Devlin, “Ark is not a show about laser beam battles with strange aliens.”
After such an intense first season, it’s clear that the series’ strength lies in Ark One’s many lovable and relatable crew members.
When it comes to the premiere, Ark wastes no time getting into the details, and neither do we!
A good captain goes down with the ship, but a great captain can bring the ark back to life
Oh Captain, my Captain Garnett. Sharon has definitely grown and evolved since she first took command of Ark One after her disastrous performance in the first episode of Season 1.

Now, the former lieutenant is a commander and captain, has a crew willing to follow her to the ends of the earth, and has a family she never imagined.
It’s clear from the first episode of Ark Season 1 that Garnett will have a lot to do as the show progresses, but it’s unlikely that the writers want Season 2 to have the same start.
As you may or may not remember, Ark One suffered severe damage, damaging the ship and killing many of its crew. Sound familiar?
Thankfully, Captain Garnett, played by Christy Burke in “Billy the Kid,” does a great job in crisis situations and is able to effectively delegate and direct aid efforts.
She’s also good at de-escalating situations, and although she influenced Maddox’s crew to jump ship, she still managed to get Maddox to back off.
At this point, it’s fair to say that despite inheriting a damaged ship and a minimal crew, Sharon performed extremely well and was likely always headed for captaincy.
However, after experiencing one disaster after another, it would be nice if the good captain could take a break and smile a little more.
She certainly deserves more reasons to smile.
Evelyn goes crazy with Maddox because her crew mutinied
If only we could go back to Maddox for a moment, because while we always knew she was insane, “The Failed Experiment” really revealed her madness.
People were probably relieved that Garnett didn’t immediately become best friends with the captain of Ark Fifteen.

On the surface, Evelyn Maddox seems cold, calculating, and cruel, but she’s working hard to make sure everyone knows she’s in a much worse situation.
She put a bomb on her daughter’s neck! This is helicopter parenting in another stratosphere.
For a network that typically focuses on the fantastical and otherworldly, Syfy has done an excellent job of crafting a series that delves deeply into what it means to be human.
As for Maddox’s daughter Kelly Fowler, the first episode of season 2 seemed to force the character onto a path to redemption aboard Ark One.
With so much blood on her hands, it would be a miracle if anyone would forgive her, but as this episode made clear, Kelly had a few screws loose, but they were done without her knowledge placed inside her body.
With Maddox calling her a “failed experiment” and her blood somehow quickly healing Angus, Kelly could be a classic “Winter Soldier” in space.

If you want Angus you have to go through Alicia
Speaking of Angus, there’s no way he could have survived those giant glass wounds that covered most of his torso without Kelly’s super blood.
Although Kelly saved his life, we can’t blame him for his reaction to the news and seeing his attacker’s face again.
Angus has a lot of trauma to overcome, and we don’t just mean mental or emotional trauma, because regardless of Kelly’s lineage, he still has a long way to go before he jumps down the aisle with Alicia.
With a large and attractive cast and the way the characters are drawn to each other, it’s a wonder this show didn’t end up on The CW.
Regardless, Angus and Alicia are going to be one of the cutest and smartest couples on the team, but we have a feeling the life support chief may have bigger priorities.

It didn’t appear in this episode, but as many fans may remember a month ago, the trailer for Ark’s second season featured an electric tentacle attacking the lovely Alicia.
However, the former Waste Management engineer will be perfectly safe if she handles the space creatures like she did Kelly to protect Angus.
No matter what happens between Angus and Alicia, we’ll root for these crazy kids who seem to find love in the darkness, emptiness, and cold vacuum of space.
Curiosity killed the cat, but she will be missed by many of the survivors of Ark One
However, not every character is as lucky as Angus, as viewers saw from the death of Dr. Cat, who succumbed to his injuries.
As she took her last breaths, Trust comforted Cat and said a few sweet words before she left the set and the crew.
While the character will be missed by many, the character’s departure is likely related to the long wait between Ark Season 1 Episode 12 and any renewal announcement.
With so much tension in the air between April and November due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, most actors are trying to get as much work as possible.
Fans of Christina Wolfe can catch up on her portrayal of Special Agent Amanda Tate as the actress has joined FBI: International as a regular cast member. International).
This appears to be the team’s greatest loss, as the vast majority of the crew appear to have survived the shattered planetary debris that struck Ark One.

The most famous survivor is Dr. Sanjivni Kabir, who didn’t let the serious injuries slow her down or stop her from adding some much-needed humorous jokes.
No matter where Ark One goes, it’s being lovingly cared for by a more family-like crew who may need to band together to face any new dangers Ark One faces in Season 2!
