Comments from the competition judges:
Miyoshi Sohei (Choral Conductor/Secretary-General of Tokyo Chorus Association/Planning Supervisor)
Thank you for all the entries you submitted during the first contest. While this is part of the judging process, we thoroughly enjoy watching all the competition. Looking forward to encountering more exciting performances this time. In particular, we are eagerly awaiting performances that fully demonstrate our love for anime songs and choral music.
Tatsuya Tanaka (composer)
I was again involved in arranging the choir and writing the score in support of this event. In previous competitions, I keenly felt everyone’s enthusiasm for choir and animation through videos. Although all the performances started with “Anime Song” and “Chorus”, I was surprised by the variety of expressions. This is a place where everyone can fully express their taste. Whether it’s one person, two people, or a group of people, as long as there’s singing! Please consider entering.
TRUE (Landis/artist)
I am honored to serve as a judge for ChoieL. Choir provides an excellent opportunity to experience the fundamental joys of music. Feel the breathing of someone on the right, the heartbeat of someone on the left, and enjoy making music together. Even the simplest of daily routines are bound to become richer. Even if you have no choir experience, you can express yourself freely. There is no right answer for music. I look forward to enjoying every one
Your band!
What is the anime song choir project “ChoieL”?
The anime song choir project “ChoieL” was launched on June 1, 2022, with the aim of combining the beloved choir tradition with the world of anime songs. We aim for a future in which anime songs will be loved as standard pieces in the chorus world by bringing out new charms in everyone’s mind. As the first step of this plan, we held the first online chorus competition in August 2022, with 50 groups participating, demonstrating the fresh charm of anime songs.
Starting from the second online competition, we will use our anime song intellectual property to provide free music activities for young people and fans around the world.
