The upcoming TV series, based on the best-selling book Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz and produced by Awesomeness, revolves around New York City ruled by an elite group of immortal vampires. The play tells the story of Sky, a 17-year-old human-vampire hybrid who enters the prestigious Duchesne Institute after being banished by the advanced vampire organization “Blue Bloods”. Skye faces the challenge of finding her place while also dealing with the return of an ancient evil vampire wreaking havoc in the city. Jacquie Walters serves as writer and executive producer, with De La Cruz, 3 Arts Entertainment’s Richard Abate and The Gotham Group’s Abate Ellen Goldsmith-Vein also serves as executive producer. The adaptation marks another television project for De La Cruz, who previously saw her “Witches of East End” series adapted for Lifetime and wrote a prequel to Disney’s “Descendants” series.
