Critics of Gen Z women in the workplace have found a new target: a funny video posted by tbh Skincare on Instagram and TikTok.

The video is part of the “boots and light bun” trend started by @maisieisobel on June 29, in which a group of people sit in a circle and shout out two qualities of themselves twice with simple corresponding dance moves. Several female employees at the tbh skincare company also jumped on the bandwagon, shouting out “Gen Z bosses and minis,” followed by “tiny tits and a bob” and “5ft 3in and an attitude.”

According to Know Your Meme, the video received approximately 2 million views on Instagram within the first two days of its release. It currently has nearly 5.5 million views on Instagram and over 3.5 million views on TikTok. While the video seemed to resonate with its target audience, once it escaped onto the wider web, people started making fun of it.

Popular stories that can be mixed and matched

Comments on TikTok include things like “They should make marketing degrees more expensive,” “This is at the core of Millennials,” and “HR after laying off most of the engineering team.”

The video was shared on X website, where sexism is rampant. “Is this a longhouse,” one user wrote in the post, referring to the matriarchal concept of wokeness popular in alt-right spaces.

People are quick to attack videos of young women relating to the workplace. There have been harsh conversations surrounding Gen Z women in the last year, who have complained about the 9-to-5 grind, and even before that, case managers were working in the pool.
