open sea Focus on artists on the Ethereum layer 2 network, according to, launched a new series called “Get Based”. The program will feature free or low-cost NFT drops. The series kicks off Thursday with artwork from Carty Sewill’s remake of “Endless Summer.” Sewill, an artist and OpenSea staff member, launched the series, which will include work by 15 different artists throughout the summer.
Series kicks off with classic works of art
Every week, OpenSea releases new NFTs through its website and social media platform Farcaster. Each drop costs $5 or less, and some are free. This approach aims to make digital art more accessible to a wider audience. The collection includes works from artists such as RGB Punks creator Jhekub, meme artist Cryptic Poet, and Twitter “Fail Whale” creator Yiying Lu.
The “Get Based” series aims to introduce emerging artists on the Ethereum L2 network to collectors. Unlike Ethereum mainnet or Solana, Base has no valuable collection yet. The series aims to understand artists and chains, giving collectors an opportunity to explore new digital art in an affordable way.
Play an increasingly important role in OpenSea strategy
OpenSea makes it easy for users to participate in the “Get Based” series. Collectors can purchase NFTs with legal currency and credit cards through the platform’s integration with MoonPay, thereby bridging the native assets with Base. This allows anyone to join the series without requiring a lot of technical understanding, even if they are new to cryptocurrency.
Starting from June 3, Base’s “On-Chain Summer II” promotion will be held simultaneously with the “Get Based” series of activities. This event covers multiple projects and protocols, providing more than 600 ETH in rewards, benefits and Gas points. As a publishing partner, OpenSea continues to support Base from last year’s promotion.
