Hasbro announces two Black Series exclusives The Mandalorian Yesterday, I kind of felt like I needed to hand over my nerd cards because I’m really not sure where they came from. The press release said they were inspired by Season 3 this The Mandalorian I watched all the shows but honestly I didn’t remember these specific Mandos at all and had to pull up Disney+ to do some research.
I thought they might be from that secret base on the Grand Canyon planet and there were a lot of monsters there, so I parked the car outcast They quickly train Mando at the beginning of the episode, and the Armorer even gives them a roll call, which I completely missed the first time around. They also join Mando, Beau and Paz on an adventure to rescue Mando’s children who were taken away by strange birds and feed her baby.
The Mandalorian Shriek-hawk Training Shoes two-pack is a Walmart exclusive and will retail for $44.99 and will be available in the fall. They haven’t announced a pre-order date yet. My initial reaction to these two is that I’m happy to see Mando in a non-Bo-Katan color, but they’re also predominantly blue. Now that I think about it, it makes sense, since the Shrieking Eagle is the symbol of Clan Wisla (it’s the symbol on their arms) and later the Death Guard, and blue is a big part of their color scheme. There are a lot of parts here that are reused, but there’s enough new stuff to make them feel different from previous versions.
The Mandalorian Shriek-hawk comes in a strange blue color for a Target-exclusive figure, which will retail for $24.99 and will be available in the fall. I personally think I prefer the softer stuff in his little skirt deal, but I like the combination of parts here. I do feel like all of these guys are a bit cleaner and could use some dirt added, but other than that these feel like a good reuse with enough new parts to keep me interested in them. There’s no pre-order date yet, so we’ll be on (death) watch.
