Fresh Monkey Fiction is back with another series of 1/12 Monster Soldier themed figures alongside the Order of the Red Moon. Similar to the Monster Force and Naughty or Nice dolls, these dolls will only be produced if BBTS’s minimum order quantity is met. They also have some stretch goals! check it out!
The Fresh Monkey Fiction website has a bunch of neat artwork and character bios that build up the Akazuki storyline and are worth a look for the art alone. The main products are three leader figures and three soldier variants. I particularly like Lord Ironmoon’s energy whip and Wolfsbane’s poison suitcase accessories.
There are several types of werewolf soldiers, including standard, jetpack, and zombie, and I like the alternate head option. Zombie Werewolves are fun and I definitely need some jetpack guys to fight my Rocket Man figure. I’m sure it’s all a coincidence and some of the part swaps and head options will get you pretty close to making some of the villains from the Action Force toy line and comic books, but if you’re not familiar with that book I think these will span multiple 1 / 12 The great villain of the scale line.
Stretch goals will also be unlocked when orders reach 3,000. It’s so close now that voting is taking place on their website to decide which of the following will be unlocked next. I myself am very partial to creepy hooded cult members because I feel like they really fit the 70s horror vibe and I wanted to build an army of these creepy guys to do some creepy stuff. Creepy ritual, but I’m curious to see what The Face will do in graphic form.
As someone who recently read the entire Power of Action book, I agree with all of this. If you are interested, please go to BBTS to place an order. I thought it would be nice to have Monster Power Wave 1 on hand before ordering these, but Fresh Monkey Fiction is a well-known quantity in the action figure world, so I feel very comfortable ordering Wave 1 now. Plus, the great thing about ordering these toys from BBTS is that they don’t charge you until the doll actually ships.
