The 800-room Miami Beach Hotel building has begun, and it is the first property to connect directly to the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) directly via the climate-controlled Skybridge.
The property, scheduled to open in the second half of 2027, includes 90,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, on four dedicated floors, 10,000 square feet of outdoor event space, five restaurants, a grand Hyatt Club Lounge and retail space.

The city’s first magnificent Hyatt Hotel is a major milestone in the city’s convention infrastructure. Although Miami Beach’s 790-room Loews Loews was once the main conference hotel, it is four blocks from the center and lacks direct access. For planners who want hotels, conference centers and restaurants, being close to convenience is a top priority for restaurants just a few steps away.
Groups like the aesthetic society are already responding. Organizations that have held events in the MBCC in the past will return in 2027.
“Participants who are able to stay away from the conference building are the overall game changers of how we plan to be at this destination,” said Kathleen McClemmy, senior director of education and conferences at the Aesthetic Association.
OVG partnership expands to conference center management
The City of Miami Beach has also expanded its partnership with Oak View Group to continue to manage the Miami Beach Convention Center for another five years.
OVG has been supervising operations at MBCC for 12 years, initially under the Spectra brand before its name change in 2022.
Today, the revitalized MBCC includes 500,000 square feet of exhibition space, a 60,000 square feet banquet hall, four junior high school banquet halls and 84 breakthrough rooms.
Outside the building, the MBCC campus also includes Pride Park’s six acres of green space and 3 acres of land in Collins Canal Park, both of which can be used for outdoor activities.
