If you are following Change of mind award,Congratulations! You have already embarked on the road to recognizing great work. Even better news, for 2025, Skift Conference will introduce four new categories – hotels, conference centers and other venues, destination marketing organizations and event technologies – to focus and celebrate the most respected and innovative suppliers in the business event industry.

But we are very clear that it takes a lot of work to get into the award. There are categories to choose from, submission forms to choose from, and deadlines to navigate.

Maybe a little overwhelmed, right? That’s where we came in.

With the right steps and some guidance, you can submit an entry that stands out.

Want to make sure you get all the details? Download our “How to Enter” guide for a step-by-step walkthrough.

Best practices for entering the Skift Idea Awards

Here is how to submit a entries that are actually glowing:

    1. Plan ahead of time

Fighting at the last minute is not good for anyone. Trust me, if you plan ahead, you will feel more relaxed.

First mark all the key dates in the calendar and then share them with key stakeholders, especially when the entrance fee rises.

As the deadline gets closer, Skift Idea reward fees increase, so early submission is more than just saving time, it is a saving currency.

If you enter $50 on May 8 at 11:59 pm ET. Submit early to ensure the best price!

    2. Select the correct category

Choosing the category that best aligns with the product is the key to making the submission setup successful. There are four conference and event categories to choose from, not just to categorize it into the category “seemingly close enough.” Really consider where your project fits.

    read Category Description careful.

Download a blank PDF from the portal to plan your ideas before you start. That way, you are ready to run.

    3. Word count? Don’t panic

We know you are passionate about your work. But sometimes, less is more.

Keep your language clear and direct, as our judges will review many entries, so your submission needs to be easy and quick to digest.

Stick to the essentials and keep them simple.

The Skift Idea Awards entry has a 100-500 word limit per section, so you need to maintain a thorough balance in a brief situation.

Focus on the big picture and key points that make your work stand out.

    4. Personality is the key

Of course, it’s a professional process, but that doesn’t mean it’s not exciting. The judges are looking at a lot of submissions, so showing a little personality can go a long way.

Use visuals, videos, and even share a short anecdote to make your project human.

    Judges like new thinking.

Use each section of the table to tell the story behind your work. It will help judges connect with your submission on a deeper level.

    5. Don’t just make a request, please back them up

The evidence is strong. Back up your proof of submission: Share any client proofs, case studies, data points or any media insurance you receive.

The more evidence you have about the success of your project, the stronger your entry will be.

Attach images, videos or documents that help tell your story and provide real-world proof of your impact.

    6. Proofread before submission

Last minute changes are common, but before submitting, please review everything thoroughly. Typos or incomplete fields can hurt your submission, so make sure everything looks polished.

A fresh pair of eyes can help you with the error you may have missed.

If you enter the final stage, we may use a portion of your submission in the marketing material, so it is worth making sure everything looks so sophisticated and professional.

    7. Lock your submission early

Submitting early means you have time to view the entries and edit them if needed.

Also, if unexpected situations occur later, it will give you some room to breathe. You have secured your location and the best price, so take a moment!

You can go back and adjust your submissions at any time before the final deadline.

The key is to start early so you won’t squeeze at the last minute.

    8. Stay tuned for the future

The Skift Idea Awards are all about innovation.

So make sure your entry emphasizes not only what you do, but how your work shapes the future of the industry.

What’s next for your project? Where can I go from here?

Consider that your entry not only reflects what you do, it also gives you a preview of what is coming.

Judges love to see how your project has a lasting impact.
