The first wave of representatives from the Amway China Leadership Symposium came to Melbourne this week, the largest inspiring group ever to visit Australia. The event has been a long time – the agency successfully won a bid for the business in 2022.
Throughout April, a total of 16,000 Amway delegates will be distributed in six waves of 2,000 and 3,000 people. Amway is using eight hotels throughout the city to carry out the program, and there are 50 different restaurants. Victoria’s expected economic impact is $100 million.
Even experienced planners, logistics is surprising. For the dinner at Melbourne Exhibition Ground, the event’s host venue, Caterer Dean & McPherson purchased a total of 11,000 crayfish and 4.5 tons of marble and scored nine Porterhouse Steaks.
Reward Winners will travel to Victoria’s most iconic attractions, including the Twelve Apostles, Fluffy Billy, Melbourne Skydick and the National Gallery of Victoria.
About 400 delegates will extend their trip to Tasmania, including luxury accommodation in Tasman, a customer charter for Tasmanian seafood adventures, where guests will capture and prepare their own meals as well as wilderness adventures.
Incentive segments are growing
Amway China also invests in the Summit’s brand, the Summit, which is its 30th birthday celebration, including wonders at the Melbourne exhibition grounds and a custom hot air balloon that will float above the city.
Incentives are an integral part of the business model of a direct sales company like Amway and are very popular in Asia.
“We expect this part of the market to continue to grow, especially after the success of the Chinese plan,” said Julia Swanson, CEO of the Melbourne Conference Board.
