
Alliance Entertainment Holding Company has acquired major assets of Diamond Comics distributors, as announced this morning. Alliance is a global wholesaler and distributor who lists music, movies, video games, electronics, arcades and collectibles in its products. Now add comics.
Although Alliance received “basically” of diamond assets under this version, the version only mentions Diamond Comics distributors, affiliate game distributors and collectable hierarchical authorizations – the list of acquired assets includes Diamond Select Toys & Collectiibles. This is supposedly included diamond books, perhaps British diamonds. Not specifically mentioned: Diamond Choice Toys and The gentle giant, perhaps the favorite of the comics industry, is a free comics day. “Basically all” is different from “all”, so we’ll find out where we’ve gone.

By already identifying a large number of account overlaps, the acquisition will immediately realize the potential of cross-selling: bringing Diamond’s fan best intellectual property into the alliance’s mass retail and e-commerce channels, while bringing the alliance’s extensive physical media catalog and licensed merchandise to thousands of special accounts.

Alliance Entertainment intends to fund the acquisition through an amendment to the existing $120 million revolving credit line, and is expected to increase to $160 million. The revised facilities will be secured by the commitment of the Company’s existing collateral and the Company’s existing collateral. The transaction and line of credit amendment is expected to close in April 2025, but will be approved by the final bankruptcy court and customary closing conditions.
