The company creates boundaries with self-love, imagination and confidence in keeping in mind. A recent survey by Mattel and OnePoll noted that 57% of parents are worried that their self-doubt can affect their children’s confidence, and on average, parents believe that their children are starting to suspect that they are around 5.6 years old. As a result, Mattel designed toys, edits and specials to help families develop love, celebrate achievements, prioritize self-care, and more.
“ Raising a toddler’s self-love is very important for their mental health and development,” said Corinne Eggleston, research manager for early childhood development at Fisher-Plice Play Lab. “Children who develop a positive self-image are often more confident and resilient, more likely to seek help when needed, learn from mistakes, and respond more easily to challenges. Barney’s self-love message encourages them to create meaningful relationships with family and friends, thereby promoting deeper connections, which can help lay the foundation for a happier, healthier life.”
Barney Brand also released a guide to parental partners to help adults promote and promote conversations with children about mental health, self-love, confidence, and more. Mattel is also donating Barney: I love you Book to Good+ Foundation, a nonprofit organization for parents and caregivers who lack certain resources.
