Crayola Studios, Mimo Studios, and Photon Creative (LAPC) will not have to end imaginative games, and will create a new movie based on popular kids’ novels Maggie and Abby’s Never End Pillow Castle. The book was written by Will Taylor and published in 2018 by Harper Collins.
“Building a pillow burger is a beloved creative childhood experience. We knew right away that we wanted to help bring this wonderful story to the screen,” said Victoria Lozano, EVP of Crayola. “The core concept of a child who explores the infinite boundaries of imagination is consistent with the creative principles of Crayola Studios. We are excited to continue our relationship with Mimo Studios and join in like Photon Creative to bring this epic fictional adventure to life.”
This movie is the second project between Crayola and Mimo Studios. Maggie and Abby’s Never End Pillow Castle Emphasizes that the former is committed to creating and producing creative content for children. Mimo Studios and LAPC previously produced pout fish. It is based on the best-selling franchise, starring Nick Offerman, Amy Sedaris and Jordin Sparks. It premieres later this year. Maggie and Abby’s Never End Pillow Castle Production begins in Australia this month.
“The two companies are uniquely aligned in both creative and business acumen, and can’t wait to increase Crayola’s talent and insight into this exciting new adventure,” said Nadine Bates from Photon Creative.
“We created an innovative, differentiated model that maximizes the likelihood of a project green and production in the current environment,” said Cyma Zarghami, founder and CEO of Mimo. “We are looking forward to this Promising projects and brand partnerships and continue to use this repeatable model to make other equally exciting movies.”
