Epic Story Media (ESM) wears many hats, from creating its own content to licensing and distributing other third-party franchises. Now, the company has officially entered the toy market.
ESM is establishing a new toy division that will oversee the strategy, design and development of toys inspired by its own intellectual property rights and ESM’s growing catalog of international licensors. Led by Kim Morris, former global marketing director at ESM, Epic Story Toys (EST) has secured exciting licensing deals and projects that will be unveiled at the 2025 Spielwarenmesse Toy Fair later this month.
In the ever-evolving children’s market, we need to be open to new ways of thinking and working. Epic Story Toys is a natural extension of our vision to create more meaningful connections with our audiences. That said, we will continue to work with other global toy companies on specific projects, assisting with content and gaming strategies to help grow our partners’ brands. We always strive to think in a 360-degree manner, and it’s exciting to have Kim lead this department because she is a proven leader with a focus on both consumers and franchises. Our first-ever Toy Master collaboration with Cheeky Little and Studio 100 International provides Vegesaurs with the perfect foundation to get started.
EST has already taken action, having been appointed global toy master partner for the Cheeky Little and Studio 100 International preschool ranges Dinosaurs. The brand will launch a new range of toys across multiple categories inspired by the series and its characters. EST will present its exciting collection at Spielwarenmesse and assert its place in the industry.
Exceed DinosaursEST creates a toy line for ESM bubble hotel IP, including collectible statues of characters from the series and stylish travel-themed playsets. EST will also take over ESM’s licensing agreement with WildBrain’s children’s favorite action series Sragtra. The brand is collaborating with Reesee on a new collection Sragtra Statues and blasters, most notably a new Megamorph Blaster that can fire bullets over 30 feet.
As a global partner of Vegesaurs, we are excited to see the brand enter the toy space with Epic Story Toys. The collaboration creates new opportunities to connect with young audiences, reinforcing the playful and imaginative spirit of ‘Cai Long’.
Kim Morris is ready to take on the role of Director of EST and lead the division into the global toy market. Morris has a history of leading successful licensing projects, including serving as Vice President of Disney Brands at Jakks-Pacific and closing coveted deals with Nickelodeon and WildBrain at Alpha Toys. She joined ESM in 2020 as Global Marketing Director, working with ESM’s key toy franchises to deliver innovation and creativity while creating meaningful play experiences for children around the world.
As head of Epic Story Toys, Morris plans to leverage engaging storytelling to create children’s next favorite toys. She said: “We are delighted to be able to bring our own intellectual property rights, such as bubble hotel and our trusted partners such as Dinosaurs and Slugland, Live and interact with fans beyond the screen in new ways.
Epic Story Toys will be showcasing these projects and more at Toy Fair 2025 in Nuremberg from January 28 to February 1.
