After a long wait for fans, Nintendo has finally unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2, which will launch later this year.
The new game console has a larger screen, stylish new Joy-Con, enhanced pop-up stand, new USB-C port and more. The trailer video shows that the new game console will accelerate into millions of households this year and launch new versions of games. Mario Kart.
Nintendo Switch 2 will be backwards compatible, meaning gamers can enjoy Nintendo Switch 2-exclusive games as well as physical and digital Nintendo Switch games. However, Nintendo Switch 2 may not support or be fully compatible with some Nintendo Switch games.
Nintendo will host Nintendo Switch 2 experience events throughout April so fans can experience the new system for themselves in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Tickets will be provided through a free, random drawing. Ticket registration for each event location will begin tomorrow (January 17th) at 3pm ET and will continue until January 26th at 11:59pm local time. All fans are required to sign up for a free Nintendo account. Events in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas, Texas are open to U.S. residents only. The full schedule is below.
