Who would have thought that in 2025 Shadows of the Empire would return to our Star Wars bookshelves. Not me, although I’ve always wanted the Black Series Spiker and Gizz.
I got the original Luke Guard disguise from this line but never cared for it, and while I thought it was smart that they introduced some Clone Trooper armor elements as a means of reconnaissance, it just doesn’t call to mind. The similarity is so dazzling to me. Still, he’s a dude wearing a helmet and neatly decked out in Star Wars armor. Leia did make some improvements to the original Boushh and re-released it, but I’m not sure if the new head and shinier metal on some parts work for me. For one, the eye lines make her look very scared. But now that I think about it, it fits the scene between her and Xizor very well. While this set isn’t quite to my taste, I’m still interested to see what they do with Chewie and Dash from Shadows.
The set will be available for pre-order on Pulse on November 12, 2024 at 1pm ET (for Premium members) and at 2pm for other members. It will also be available on Disney stores at a later date, possibly closer to the planned spring 2025 release date.
