JO1’s new song chosen as opening theme for ‘Tokyo Revengers’ anime
JO1‘s new song “IGNITE” has been selected as the opening theme for ‘Tokyo Revengers: Three Deities Arc,’ that’s slated to premiere on October 2.
Based on Ken Wakui’s manga ‘Tokyo Revengers,’ the new arc follows Takemichi Hanagaki as he faces his final battle during the “Three Deities Era,” after the conflict between the Tokyo Manji Gang and Tenjiku.
JO1 will release their 11th single, “AAO,” on November 18, with “IGNITE” serving as the lead track. The song was unveiled for the first time during the group’s ‘JO1DER SHOW 2026: EIEN‘ finale on July 20 at Vantelin Dome Nagoya.
Members Syoya Kimata and Junki Kono both contributed to the song’s lyrics. Kimata, a longtime fan of ‘Tokyo Revengers,’ said he rewrote the lyrics many times to create a song worthy of the beloved series, while Kono shared that he was honored by the opportunity and looks forward to hearing “IGNITE” in the anime.
