Surprisingly, Marvel Rivals does a great job of filling the gaps between the two. suicide squad and Battlefield Special Attack 2 Admittedly a failure. How this happened and why it was successful is something I’m trying to figure out myself, although what you need to know is that this game is a great superhero shooter that comes with a perfect IP for the genre. So what if you like comics/video games and want to look cool in front of future kids watching TikTok? This is a game worth trying. The holy grail that comics seek finally captures the attention of Generation Z.
when i first reported Marvel Rivals There were a lot of things about this concept that I didn’t believe in back in March. and high-quality games.
Games such as Hymn, Red Fall, Battle Formation Special Attack 2and even another big publisher of comics, DC’s own “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League”are all part of the failed and self-evident transformation of the gaming industry. Pursuing long-term revenue streams from servicing video games without any community management is a key ingredient needed to make a looter/hero/shooter game work. I’m tired of it. The gaming industry and many of my peers are tired of it. Just like anyone who follows the game.
Because the truth is, it’s frustrating that most game companies don’t try to make quality products just to stay trendy anymore. Publishing a AAA game is a high-risk endeavor that can take years and hundreds of millions of dollars. A lot of game companies just want to copy Fortress Heroes, Destiny, and Strike Force. It’s all about cost reduction and continued revenue.
What these companies fail to acknowledge is that the success of these games is due to the relationship between their fans and community managers. Company people talk to fans, giving them a place to enjoy the game, talk about the game, and most importantly, educate them on what’s coming and why they should care about continuing to play and pay for the experience. Those characters? Some of this first occurred during several years of ongoing layoffs.
Frankly, for many of us, seeing companies continue to pursue this model made gaming terrible and ruined for a time. Stop trying to just churn out one IP playground after another where players can shoot each other. At best, you’re paying extra to get glorious laser tag, and at worst, a skin farm designed to impress the community you spend time with, resulting in more More gameplay and more payouts.
The essence and soul that made the game fun became an oversaturated garbage dump for this type of game. Yet the industry keeps moving in this direction while those pursuing the opposite direction, those who just make good games (just look at the 2023 Game of the Year nominees), are profiting. Why does no one care and everyone wants this model that fails over and over again and is killing the gaming industry.
But it came out this year. Hellraiser 2 and friend world Based on their Steam streaming numbers, they both have pretty decent followings upon release, and more importantly, they’ve all actually gone from middling indie games to their current success. This brings us to the end of the year, and finally, Marvel Rivals Published and delivered how to do what everyone couldn’t do, It surprised everyone in the industry – myself included.
Now, I’m a pretty big gamer and Marvel fan, and I really don’t think this move is going to work. But I was wrong.
Currently, the number of players of “Marvel Rival” has exceeded 10 million. The online fan community seems to be loving it, as Steam reviews have been extremely positive, and the player base is growing and exceeding various metrics. For a game like this that relies on a steady audience? This thing blows all data out of the water. I’m really happy to admit that I like their collaborative strategy. I mean…just look at the world’s current obsession with Jeff the Landshark.
Now, NetEase is very good at this type of game and has a good track record. But Marvel Rivals exceeds expectations for any type of game, and perhaps just lacks critical meta review scores. The data also shows that people are buying battle passes and skins, making it the second-highest-grossing game on Steam, according to IGN.
By the way, none of this data is available? Whether console data is actually taken into account. So from what I’ve seen so far, expect the numbers to be higher for everything.
The truth is, no matter what the critics score, everything from the art style to the user interface to the gameplay works for this game. Even the third-person perspective, a questionable choice for many for a shooter, works in terms of game animations. It also serves as a secondary form of potential revenue for skins that could be released over the next few years. My only real question is – how will the Marvel counterpart maintain communication with fans and seasonal roadmap plans. Because this seems to be a death trap in almost every game.
That said, Marvel Rivals looks to be an overall success so far. It’s a fun game that lets you play as Marvel Super Heroes (there are up to 33 of them, maybe more) and it can surprise you. While I’ll always love the Rocksteady Arkham series and its Insomniac-style storyline (it’s a comic book game – this thing deserves a real story!) – I can see why this game is particularly fun.
You can play Marvel Rivals for free on Playstation, XBox, Epic Games Store, and Steam.
