Last month’s ranking: No. 5
Snippets from last month: For months, the tribal chief had been trying to get close to his real-life cousin Solo Sikoya, eager to compete one-on-one with him, even though Sikoya made it clear he wasn’t interested. The new Bloodline leader became the catalyst for Survivor Series WarGames by defeating the former World Champion in a tag team match at Crown Jewel.
In the weeks leading up to the event, Reigns and his cousins Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso were looking for teammates for Survivor Series. After finally convincing OG Bloodline member Sami Zayn to rejoin their team, the Good Guys still needed a fifth member to qualify for the 5-on-5 tournament. Shockingly, returning “Wise Guy” and WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman introduced the fifth member of the OG Bloodline team: none other than the original “Paul Heyman Guy” CM Punk.
Reigns has a long history with Punk, with the former World Champion serving as Punk’s mercenary in his debut. This made for an absolutely fantastic telecast for the 38th annual Survivor Series.
Survivor series in-ring performance: Once in the ring, Reigns looked spectacular, climbing onto the cage at War Games (after Sikoya tried to lock him out with his own chain) and slugging it out in Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Diving crossbody hits were made on Jacob Fatou, Bronson Reed and Solosikoya. Even while focusing on offense, Reigns made sure the storyline of the match remained intact. At one point, Reigns helped each of his teammates to their feet—except Punk—adding tension to their dynamic. This seemed to be a response to Punk pissing off The Original Tribe Chief by pushing Reigns aside (similar to Candice LeRae in her match) to get into the match before him.
Reigns continued to dominate, hitting low blows on Fatu and landing a huge spear on Solo. Surrounding Sikoa with all his teammates (Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso and CM Punk) , Tabletop emerged victorious after allowing everyone to take a shot at him. Punk hit the Go to Sleep on Solo, and Reigns ended the match with a spine-tingling Spear to earn the elusive pinfall victory. It was a great way to end Survivor Series.
