We’re officially entering December, which means sales Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is accelerating. Trailer is playing Before every age-appropriate movie comes out, there’s a Sonic and Sonic billboard in Times Square shadowy They have faces plastered all over them and every toy store is filled with merchandise. That includes a new promotion from Build-A-Bear that lets you make adorable box-set versions of Sonic, Shadow, and Tails. I can’t lie, I was kind of attracted to the idea of creating Shadow and dressing him in cool clothes. I’m not sure if the fashion for these little guys has gotten any better since I last got into building bears about seven years ago, but Shadow is one of the few characters I might be tempted to try. The most interesting thing about this promotion, however, is that Build-A-Bear may have hinted Sonic the Hedgehog 3Tell a story by giving your shadow a specific accessory. The antihero is tied up with the Master of Emerald, which has some major implications for the direction Sonic 3 Might go. Assuming this is a reference to the movie itself, rather than Shadow’s game appearancemeaning Shadow may be looking for the Master Emerald, who was last seen in the care of Sonic and his friends. Sonic 2.
So far, Shadow’s appearances in the movie’s trailers haven’t connected him to the Emeralds, who house the Chaos Emeralds in the film’s continuity. They are used to transform Sonic and Shadow into their super forms, giving them the ability to fly, making them more powerful, and turning their feathers into golden or white. There is a brief clip In the movie’s second trailer Some fans believe this could mean the two hedgehogs will fight in super form, and there’s a similarly brief shot of the opponent reaching for an emerald, with no explanation in recent tv showsbut the trailer doesn’t focus on this plot point at all.
Meanwhile, Sonic has a gold ring accessory and his red shoes are a separate set. This seems like a shameless attempt to cash in on people to build a complete character, especially considering Shadow and Tails already has shoes to fill. An odd choice, but a transparent one.
