While these two gems are required for quests and crafting, they have other uses: Feed the dragon You found it after eternity! If you want to feed these critters their favorite food, you’ll want to stock up on lava or pure ice (or both!) to ensure they stay full. They had just as much fun eating it!
This is where you find magma and pure ice Storybook Valley And how to speed up the grinding process a little bit.
where to find magma Storybook Valley
You can find lava by mining any area within the Mythopia biome. Unfortunately, the node here also shares a spawn point with rubies, so finding the magma consistently can be a pain. Ruby is already available in the base game, so it’s especially frustrating when a ruby pops up instead of the lava-encrusted gem you wanted.
Make sure you bring a mining buddy with you so that when you find some magma, you’re sure to get a second one.
Where to find pure ice Storybook Valley
You can find pure ice by mining any area within the Eternal biome. Like Magma, the nodes here share a spawn point, but at least this time it’s with another new gem, Star Sapphire. This means you won’t be as disappointed when you hit the Star Sapphire node instead of pure ice, since you need to craft and quest at the same time.
Again, bringing along a mining companion can speed this up a lot, giving you extra pure ice (or star sapphires!) every time you find one.
Keep working on building up your inventory of magma and pure ice, and be sure to leave some in your inventory for when you encounter one of the cute little dragons scattered around the Eternal World. Starving them turns you into a monster. You’re not a monster, are you?
