Star Wars Desperados It finally landed on Steam last week. Unfortunately, the latest version of Windows also has an issue that prevents sci-fi open world adventures and other Ubisoft games from working. Microsoft has acknowledged the issue and is pausing updates.
“After installing Windows 11 version 24H2, you may experience issues with certain Ubisoft games,” the warning reads On the Microsoft website. “These games may become unresponsive during startup, loading, or active gameplay. In some cases, users may experience a black screen. It lists the following games as “incompatible with the latest updates.”
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
- Avatar: Pandora’s Frontier
- Star Wars Desperados
- Assassin’s Creed Origins
If you notice a pattern, it’s that these are open-world Ubisoft games, some of the publisher’s most popular games in recent years. Microsoft issued a compatibility hold to prevent the update from being released to any PC with the aforementioned game installed, and said it was working with Ubisoft to “resolve the issue.”
Meanwhile, Ubisoft has Released its own patch Star Wars Desperados Try mitigating the issue for anyone who has installed the latest Windows 11 updates. “Additionally, we’ve just deployed an interim patch (v1.4.1) for players who are experiencing issues playing the game on Windows 11 24H2,” the patch notes read. “Please note that while we work on a more permanent fix , you may experience some performance issues.”
It’s unclear how many players are actually affected by the issue. Windows updates started rolling out earlier this month and before November 21, Star Wars Desperados It’s only available through Ubisoft’s exclusive Ubisoft+ launcher. Assassin’s Creed ValhallaOn the other hand, there are likely millions of PC gamers who may encounter issues when trying to launch the game in the near future.
