Web3 anime-themed project Azuki cooperates with Aniplex, a subsidiary of Japan’s Sony Music and a leading anime content producer.
This cooperation aims to expand the influence of the public destiny Franchise with Anime.com, starting with limited editions fate/strange fake Digital collectibles.
The first edition is a series of four limited-edition digital sticker sets that will go on sale on November 23rd.
What is Aniplex?
Founded in 1995, Aniplex is an entertainment company that produces, licenses and distributes animation, movies, games and merchandise. It is best known for its role in the production of popular anime series such as demon slayer, Sword Art Online, and Fullmetal Alchemist.
One of its most enduring works is the Fate series, which began as a visual novel in 2004 and has expanded into a global series of animated adaptations, games, and movies.
The franchise has been a commercial success, generating billions of dollars in revenue over the past two decades.
Why is this collaboration significant?
Aniplex has traditionally focused on more traditional media and merchandise, while Azuki focuses on blockchain-based digital assets.
The collaboration provides a test case for how the animation industry can use blockchain technology to create new forms of participation. Notably, blockchain technology faces resistance from some anime fans due to concerns about speculation.
The partnership could become an indicator of whether blockchain can be integrated into anime culture in a way that resonates with audiences.
What else can we expect from this collaboration?
The first initiative of the partnership will be the launch of fate/strange fake Digital sticker set, available exclusively on Anime.com starting November 23rd.
The launch will coincide with a livestream event on Anime.com to provide updates and additional background on the collaboration.
No additional product offerings have been officially announced, but the companies said the partnership may expand to include more digital experiences and ways for fans to interact with the Fate series.
