The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Thursday announced the films eligible for the 2025 Oscars in the animated feature, international feature and documentary categories.
Among the 31 works eligible for the Animated Feature Film category, animated films and Japanese media-related films include:
Josh Cooleyof Transformers One CG animated feature films, and Shannon Tyndall and Industrial Light & Magicof Ultraman: Rise CG animated features are also eligible under the Animated Feature category.
Selected by Japan Film Producers Association Kurosawa Kiyoshiof cloud The film was submitted as Japan’s submission to the International Feature Film category.
Some of the films still need to play in at least one theater in one of six U.S. metropolitan areas for at least a week by Dec. 31 to be eligible for consideration.
