Last month’s ranking: third place
Snippets from last month: In a somewhat predictable development, Raines found himself in need of help. When his cousin Jimmy Uso returned at Bad Blood, the OG blood found itself outnumbered by the new blood. As a result, Reigns and Uso were eliminated week after week on Smackdown. Eventually, Jimmy convinced his brother Jey Uso to address his previous issues with Reigns and help them work it out. The story of “The Bloodline” remains one of the most layered and interesting that WWE has to offer.
Performances within the Crown Jewels Ring: Roman Reigns’ loss to Sikoa via pinfall may have shocked us all, but it was undoubtedly the right decision. This was another match where Reigns, being the smart guy, kept his teammates going for most of the match and made the tags when it mattered most. From a “wrestling” performance standpoint, the multiple-time WrestleMania headliner didn’t do much. However, Reigns not only caught the attention of fans, but his opponents as well.
When the former champion actually made contact with Sikoya, the crowd erupted. At one point, the new Chief hit the original Chief with a Samoan Spike, but Reigns didn’t kick out. Either Jimmy was late or Reigns forgot. However, the bad guys take away the winner. After the match, New Bloodline defeated OG Bloodline as Sami Zayn tried to make the save for the good guys. The game was great, but it was the story that really kept it in the rankings. Things are heating up with next month’s Survivor Series set to begin, and Reigns is nearing the top of his game.
