Dragon Age: Veiled Wardens Possibly BioWare’s most beautiful game. This RPG looks great and works really well, I Had a very good, mostly bug-free experience On my first playthrough. However, during the review, I experienced a devastating glitch that nearly ruined an otherwise fantastic ending. Normally I wouldn’t mention an issue I encountered during a pre-release review if something was fixed by the time the game was released, but I have confirmed that this particular issue is still present in the game at launch. We won’t talk about the specific details about the ending, but if you’re reading this, you’ve probably encountered it, or are concerned that it will disrupt your late-game experience. The bug is related to the 2014 protagonist The Inquisitor Dragon Age: Inquisition Who appears in the sequel.
Mild, non-specific spoilers Dragon Age: Veiled Wardens follow
Without getting into the details of the story, the Inquisitor appears in Veil Guardthe final mission. This is the character you create in the character creator at the beginning of the game, so they can be similar to the hero you played as in the previous entry. I’m not satisfied with their integration Veil Guardbut I’m always happy to see my old protagonists pop up. However, after replaying Veil GuardAfter entering the final level multiple times, I ran into a bug that made me extremely frustrated every time I encountered it.
This glitch first appears in the final scene of Inquisitor. i met him earlier Veil GuardOne last big push and nothing seemed to go wrong. However, as he reaches his raunchy climax, he looks almost completely different. His hair and beard are the same, but his other features are completely different. Here’s a comparison of the same shot, one is how he should look and the other is how he looked when I first fought him Veil Guardthe final push.
Those are two different people. But if he showed me how I created him, I must have found a solution, right? Well, at least that’s what I do for now. Unfortunately, this bug seems to be inconsistent. I saw my Inquisitor in the finale looking like himself the whole time, and then also multiple playthroughs in the last hour where he looked like no one else I’d ever seen before. However, when I looked at this guy for a long time, I realized that he was one of the preset models from the character customization screen that I had been using for 50 hours before trying to recreate my old hero. Sometimes this mistake happens during the final scenes, other times it happens during all the pre-final battle banter. But from what I can tell, it seems like something was tapped Veil Guard‘s ending causes Inquisitors to default to crafting them using one of the base character models provided by the game. So how to solve this problem?
The only solution I’ve found so far is Reload old save See if the character you created appears in a later scene in the game. Sometimes you have to do this at multiple points in case the character somehow reverts to an incorrect appearance in the final mission. I’ve seen other players report this happening to them, not the Inquisitor, But with a new protagonist Rook. Some people are saying that when reloading an old save or approaching the morphing mirror in the Beacon Infirmary, it reverts to your custom character. At least the bug doesn’t appear to be permanent. Seeing it in one of the most important scenes of the game is really deflating. Hopefully BioWare can resolve this issue soon.
