Thanks to boutique home video brand Kino Lorber’s dedication to bringing remastered and rare titles to the market, we’re getting the director’s 4K remaster Jon Favreau2011 science fiction western film cowboys and aliens.

This sci-fi action western blends an alien invasion with the harsh environment of the American frontier. The film is set in 1873 Arizona, where a mysterious amnesiac named Jack Lonergan (played by Craig) wanders through the town of Pardon wearing an unusual high-tech bracelet on his wrist.
After a run-in with the local sheriff and cattle baron Woodrow Dollard (Ford), Jack’s troubles take an unexpected turn when an alien spacecraft suddenly appears in the sky, attacks the town and kidnaps the residents .
Shocked and defeated, the townspeople realize their only chance of survival lies in teaming up with Jack, who gradually recalls fragments of his past encounters with the invaders.
Jack, Woodrow and the town’s residents form an uneasy alliance and embark on a perilous journey into the desert to find the aliens and save their loved ones.
Along the way, they encounter various obstacles, including hostile tribes and a new alien threat, as well as revelations about Jack’s past life and the mysterious Ella Swenson (Wilde), who has a deeper connection to the alien threat.
I loved this movie and I thought it was an interesting and unique mashup of genres.
The disc releases a new 4K remaster of the theatrical version, along with Favreau’s director’s commentary.
