As an adult, you probably won’t make a habit of ordering from your kids’ menu. I bet the only thing that would change is a unique collaboration with a rare toy or collectible. It’s that time again, with McDonald’s teaming up with Nintendo to launch a Mario Kart and Happy Meal collaboration. (Add it to the list Non-Switch 2 Nintendo Announcement.) This partnership is available at all McDonald’s locations in the U.S., but it’s unclear whether other markets will get the same promotion.
While these exclusive toys are technically designed for children ages three and up, we know that many of the people who will be ordering Mario Kart-themed Happy Meals are those who grew up face-to-face with their siblings in the game. Hey, I’m not judging. I want that Toad Kart!
A total of ten limited-edition Mario Kart and Happy Meal collaboration toys are available for purchase, including:
- Mario Kart
- Peach Kart
- Luigi Kart
- towdt kart
- Donkey Kong Kart
- Golden Mario Kart
- Toad Kart
- Yoshi Kart
- bowser map
- Pink gold peach kart
Each Mario Kart toy comes with a unique box. The front features Nintendo’s usual marketing graphics, while the side features McDonald’s iconic smile that’s often seen on Happy Meals.
Of course, every Happy Meal is different, and you may receive the same toy multiple times. You can ask to buy one of the toys separately, although many places don’t take this policy and may turn you away outright. Most require the purchase of meals.
This promotion is specifically for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Editionlaunched on Nintendo Switch on April 28, 2017.
