many Dragon Age: Veiled Wardensof Choices are personal and focused on the team’s relationships and life path. However, one of the major world-changing events occurred early on, shortly after you recruited Davlin, Gray Warden Companion. Now, you may be faced with a choice between aiding Minrasus in the city of Tevinter or aiding Treviso, the stronghold of the Antivan Crows, against a coordinated dragon attack. If you’re not sure what decision to make and want to know what the consequences of each option are, we’ve laid it out for you here.
This choice will have consequences for your party and faction allies, as Neve, the Mage of Tevinter, and Lucanis, the Antivan Assassin, both hail from the affected cities. You’re essentially choosing which city and faction will be better able to help you when the time comes, and set Neff or Lucanis down a specific path in their story or even combat roles. Below is an overview of the consequences.
- People you don’t help will temporarily leave the team
- When they come back, they will be considered “hardened”, which locks part of their skill trees and makes it harder to develop their relationships without higher approval throughout the game
- You’ll lose some choice in Neve and Lucanis’ individual storylines, where they’ll be forced in one direction by circumstance
- Cities you don’t save will be destroyed, changing quest lines and dialogue, and cutting off access to local faction shops
- Shadow Dragon or Antivan Crow will have a baseline penalty for allied power points, meaning it’s impossible to max them out
Overall, this is still a binary choice, but it will have a very direct impact on your relationship with Neve and Lucanis. It’s still possible to reach the end of their storyline (including having them become heroes of the Veiled Wardens, which is equivalent to reaching maximum loyalty in the game) mass effect series) and make up for the loss of Allied power, but it will require more side missions to do that, and you won’t have shops selling valuables to increase those numbers.
As of this writing, I’m not sure if it excludes you from Neve and Lucanis’ respective romances. I saved Minrathous in the game, and my relationship with Lucanis was progressing slowly, so I didn’t see any options for further flirting, ultimately locking in my romantic relationship with Davrin. We will update this guide as the situation becomes clearer.
