The Red Sea International Film Festival on Wednesday announced its new vision and film lineup for the fourth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in December, which includes Saudi Arabia’s New Voices, The Vatican, New Zorro series with artist The star, Jean Dujardin, is a British historian with an in-depth knowledge of Turkish television series and a vast body of art. Following the star-studded festival in 2023, RSIFF 2024 will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from December 5-14.
Four of the five films in the Red Sea: New Horizons series are Saudi Arabian films. “Saudi Arabian voices take center stage this year alongside a variety of international films and series, highlighting the Kingdom’s cultural renaissance while highlighting global creativity and innovation,” organizers said.
Saudi Arabia covers topics such as Jeddah artists; Saudi artists’ relationship with Italian and Vatican art; the artistic heritage of Roshans, wooden facades as architectural landmarks in Mecca, Jeddah and Medina, Saudi Arabia ;The mission of the Rayan Cultural Foundation is to preserve the nation’s heritage for future generations.
Meanwhile, the international co-production of the show is described as “a documentary that jumps between nostalgia and ambition, with parkour becoming a metaphor for resilience in the face of an uncertain future.”
“Saudi Arabia’s vibrant arts scene runs at the heart of several films, capturing the energy, creativity and ambition of its artists,” said Antoine Khalife, director of the festival’s Arab Programs and Cinema Classics. ) said. “With passionate brushstrokes and boldly visionary sculptures, the Saudi director brings to life the stories of the painters, sculptors and other creatives who shaped the country’s artistic landscape, inviting us to see the world through their eyes. We are excited about ‘New Horizons’ Part with special affection, this section honors groundbreaking directors who dance the line between documentary and fiction. These films dive into real life in a human way, offering fresh and thought-provoking perspectives.
Meanwhile, the Red Sea series will screen four new international TV shows “focusing on different genres such as horror and adventure,” organizers said.
Kaleem Aftab, director of international programming at RSIFF, said: “This year’s selection highlights that television is an excellent long-form way to tell history and convey episodic stories. “Just like film, television spans all formats and genres, especially horror. A revolution in audience-driven storytelling, this year’s selection includes thrilling documentaries, ghost stories and swashbuckling adventures.
The collection includes Jean Baptiste Saurel’s Zorrotaking the audience back to Los Angeles at the turn of the 19th century, The Lost World of Bettanyius: The Nabataeansin which a British historian delves into the history of the ancient Arab people, the Nabataeans.
